MEET THE STAFF
The team that provides the construction industry with the perfect blend of Arizona news and history
Billy spent his childhood in Phoenix dreaming about building things and studying the past. These activities came to fruition many years later when he launched Arizona Contractor & Community magazine in 2012. The publication provides a perspective on construction, engineering, and architecture examined through the lens of history. His duality continues as he still works in construction while publishing the magazine. Some things never change.
Designer & Office Manager
Laura is the graphic design, accounting, and IT whiz at the magazine. But photography is her real talent. In her spare time, Laura is usually out searching for interesting backdrops for photo shoots with her ever-present coffee cup and camera in hand. “I love finding the hidden gems around the city that most people drive right past,” she says.
A long-time history buff, Doug took a 30-year detour working as a hydrologist before devoting himself full-time to uncovering Arizona’s most intriguing stories. He thrives on unearthing quirky events and people the textbooks have overlooked. “So many fascinating things have occurred in Arizona that have never been documented, it’s like there’s been a conspiracy to make history tedious,” he says.
