When Shuffleboard Courts Were A Prerequisite For Creating A Mid-Century Gem

"From Casa to Condos" is the "Back When" column from the Winter issue of Arizona Contractor & Community Magazine L.L.C. The title alludes to the replacement of one Phoenix landmark, Dwight and Maie Heard's Casa Blanca residence with a mid-century landmark, the Phoenix Towers. The 14-floor building was designed by Chicago architect Ralph C. Harris and included a nine-hole putting green and four shuffleboard courts.
