SRP Offers Free Electrical Safety Workshop: Event Helps Tree Workers, Landscapers, Excavators Avoid


WHAT:

SRP is sponsoring a FREE Electrical Safety Workshop to educate individuals who work in landscaping, tree trimming, excavating, roofing, HVAC, painting or any construction-related industry.

This workshop includes live demonstrations and covers the potential hazards of coming in contact with overhead and underground power lines, which run throughout Valley neighborhoods.

Instruction will be in English with Spanish translation available.

The following topics will be covered: job briefing assessments, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tree trimming equipment checks, step and touch potential, trench safety, road safety, Arizona 811 and more.

Participants must be 18 years or older. The workshop includes full hot breakfast and a chance to win raffle prizes. Employers may register up to 20 current employees at one time.

DETAILS:

Every year, professional tree trimmers, landscapers, roofers, painters and excavators are killed or seriously injured in tree-trimming and excavation accidents with electrical contact. Workers operate dangerous equipment and are vulnerable to serious injuries when working near overhead and underground electric lines and other utilities.
