The "Ghosts" of Bing, Elvis and Sky Harbor?

What do Bing Crosby, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, R.E.M. and the Dixie Chicks have in common? They all recorded versions of "Ghost Riders in the Sky" written by Stan Jones. In this image, the songwriter is greeted by his fan club and Arizona Governor Ernest McFarland at Sky Harbor Airport in 1957, as Arizona Contractor & Community Magazine L.L.C. looks "Back When" in the Summer 2017 issue.
