Phoenix Construction Company Changes Name
The founders of construction company Venue Builders Aaron Genova and Cal Detwiler, known for their work on The Desert Botanical Garden, The Newton, The Douglas Scottsdale and The Orchard, have changed the name of their company.
They have renamed the company Genova-Detwiler Custom Builders so the duo is now focusing on building custom homes and residences for their clients.
“While this is a change of name for the business, everything else remains the same operationally, including the people, systems, location, and leadership,” Cal Detwiler said in a press release.
The team first paired up in 2012. Not only are they creating homes for their clients but also condominiums including, Cahava Springs and the Douglas Scottsdale.

McCarthy names new vice president
McCarthy Building Companies has promoted Kristine Newman, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), as the new vice president for finance of the Southwest region.
Newman will supervise not only the financial but also operational results for an area including Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah, an area of more than $630 million in revenues annually.
Newman has been with McCarthy for 12 years, starting as a controller in the Southwest region.
McCarthy Building Companies is the oldest privately held national construction company in the country.

JGL Consulting receives HomeAdvisor Award
JGL Consulting, a general contracting company in Peoria, has been awarded the 2017 Best of HomeAdvisor Award, which represents companies that give HomeAdvisor clients the best service.
“As the owner of JGL Consulting, I am honored to receive this award,” Bill Keckler said in a press release. “Since our merger in 2014, Tammi and I have made it our commitment to all homeowners that we will offer the best quality workmanship for the least amount of money that we can."
