McCarthy Building Companies hires Jeremy Melvin as Human Resources Director, Southwest Region


McCarthy Building Companies Inc. (www.mccarthy.com) recently hired Jeremy Melvin as human resources director for the Southwest region.

In this role, Melvin will oversee all personnel functions for a geographic area with revenue of more than $1 billion annually, which includes Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. He will also provide leadership to McCarthy’s two national business units based in Phoenix, including the Water and Renewable Energy teams.

Melvin will be in charge of core HR processes and programs, employee onboarding, employee relations and employee development for a 550+ person salaried workforce, in addition to more than 1,000 craft professionals. He works directly with McCarthy’s Regional Talent Acquisition Manager on all recruiting activities, as well as partners with the St. Louis-based Corporate HR team in the areas of compensation and benefits, training and organizational development and compliance.

Melvin has more than seven years experience in human resources, and spent 16 years with Target prior to joining McCarthy.

Melvin earned his bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Arizona State University.
