“Construction on Ridgeview College Preparatory is progressing quickly, and we’re committed to delivering the finished school to The Leona Group prior to the start of its inaugural semester in July,” said Scott Salyer, regional manager for AP. “This project is just one of many K-12 builds AP is working on in the region. Like all of them, we’re dedicated to the quick and safe construction of a well-built school that enhances students’ education across the Phoenix metro area.”
Ridgeview College Preparatory is a tuition-free, nonprofit public charter high school that seeks to help students in the San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, Florence and Mesa communities get an early start on college, trade school or other forms of career-focused, relevant learning.
AP began construction on the 37,000-square-foot campus in March 2021, and completion is expected in early July 2021. Designed by Carhuff & Cueva Architects, the campus will feature a regulation-sized gymnasium, science labs, technology-rich classrooms and indoor/outdoor learning spaces that provide students with comfortable, flexible and student-focused environments.
“We’re excited to see the beginnings of what will become a transformational journey in the lives of so many East Valley students and educators,” said Michele Kaye, chief operating officer of The Leona Group, which manages the school. “This milestone is an important one in the life of the school. It’s where our plans to create close and collaborative mentorships begin to take shape in the built environment.”
Ridgeview College Prep is currently enrolling grades nine through 11 for the 2021-2022 school year, and 12th-grade enrollment will begin in 2022.
AP has maintained an office in Phoenix for 30 years with a long and accomplished history of providing repeat construction management services for educational institutions throughout the region. AP’s past and current area projects include campuses for the Academies of Math and Science, BASIS Charter Schools throughout the Valley, Williams Field High School, the Maricopa Institute of Technology, and the North Scottsdale Campus for Candeo Schools Inc.
