Arizona’s Workforce Housing Leader Greenlight Communities Announces Groundbreaking on Streamliner 87th, at 87th Ave and Peoria Ave

Streamliner 87th Will Bring 190 New Rental Units of Attainable Housing to Workers in Peoria

Greenlight Communities, the pioneering Scottsdale-based real-estate developer dedicated to constructing attainable workforce rental housing, announces the groundbreaking of a new Streamliner Community in Peoria at 87th Ave and Peoria Ave.

This project will be a pair of firsts for Greenlight, the developers’ first project in Peoria and the first Streamliner 2.0 project. This updated model of Streamliner buildings which uses smaller 24-unit buildings with simplified architecture allows for quicker build times and makes efficient use of site planning, showcasing Greenlight’s continued dedication to using modern design technology to improve attainable housing for their residents.

Located less than a mile from both the 101 and the Phoenix-Wickenburg Highway/Grand Ave, the site is well-positioned near downtown Peoria. Looking to provide easy access to necessities for workers, the site is also within short driving distance of Banner Boswell Medical Center, Westgate Entertainment District, Glendale Community College, and within walking distance of numerous parks.

“Peoria is a strong rental submarket with limited new supply.” stated Dan Richards, Partner at Greenlight Communities, "The existing options for the workforce have a date range of 40 years, with no new attainable projects in the last 5 years. This new community will allow workers to live in an area with over 25,000 employment opportunities within 5 miles, allowing them to live near where they work, in a modern apartment community.

Once completed, Streamliner 87th will bring a total of 190 new rental units to this Peoria address. Altogether the communities will offer 71 studio apartments with rents starting at $1,099. There will also be a total of 72 one-bedroom units and 47 two-bedroom units.

Greenlight has surpassed one billion dollars in projects, with 18 communities in various development stages across the Valley. The Streamliner communities, part of Greenlight's mission, enhance efficiency by streamlining design and construction, reducing costs significantly. The company's in-house general contracting and civil engineering division further contribute to delivering a superior product faster and more affordably to residents. Greenlight Communities has additional communities under construction in Phoenix, Glendale and communities leasing in Mesa, Tucson and Goodyear.
