Travel + Leisure, an essential, trusted source for travel guidance and inspiration around the globe, announced the 2023 winners of the annual T+L 500 Awards including luxury desert oasis, Castle Hot Springs. Derived from votes by readers in the annual World’s Best Awards survey, the 500 highest hotel scorers make up this prestigious list. The award-winning luxury resort destination has also been recognized as the No. 1 Resort Hotel in Arizona for two consecutive years in a row from 2021 – 2022.

Each year, the discerning readers of Travel + Leisure — the largest travel media brand in the United States, with an audience of more than 36 million — vote for their favorite destinations, city hotels, resorts, and more in the World’s Best Awards survey. Drawing from the 2022 results, the 2023 T+L 500 list recognizes the best hotels around the globe in a prestigious, non-ranked directory, categorized by geographic region and alphabetical order. The honorees are grouped into eight geographic regions: Africa and the Middle East; Asia; Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific; Canada; the Caribbean; Europe; Mexico, Central America, and South America; and the United States. This roster of properties serves as a trusted resource for millions of enthusiastic travelers.

Once a western hideaway and retreat of choice for America’s titans of industry such as the Cabots, Vanderbilts, Wrigley’s, Roosevelts, and Astors, Castle Hot Springs has hosted some of America’s most prominent families throughout the early 1900s. The destination weaves the rich and storied history throughout the resort, culminating in a tranquil desert oasis that encourages visitors to reconnect with their surroundings and unplug from the outside world.

New this season, the property introduced a Crater Canyon Experience, where guests hike to a private slot canyon in a remote section of the Sonoran Desert, led by an expert outdoorsman who shares information on the surrounding ecosystem along the way such as Saguaro Cacti and desert wildflowers. Along the route, guests will take time to enjoy splendid vistas, pause in anticipation of observing the resident pair of Peregrine falcons and see the years unfold in layers of geology that tell a fascinating story of history. Arizona’s first-ever Via Ferrata adventure course is also an heart-pumping option for the resort’s adrenaline-seeking guests. All of Castle Hot Spring’s activities, leisurely or more adventure leaning, invite guests to immerse themselves in the Sonoran Desert and glean all the benefits of being surrounded by the elements.

Adding to the property’s already impressive portfolio of accolades since reopening in 2019, Castle Hot Springs has also been recognized by:
