Backed by strategic partnership with The Garrett Companies, industry veterans aim to elevate commercial real estate

Legacy Development Partners, a newly launched real estate development firm specializing in retail and mixed-use projects, is set to make an immediate impact across the Southwest and beyond. Founded by industry veteran Chris Hake and strategically backed by national multifamily leader and mixed-use developer The Garrett Companies, the Phoenix-based firm will focus on developing and redeveloping single-tenant outparcels, multi-tenant buildings, grocery-anchored projects and mixed-use spaces.

“We built Legacy Development Partners on a foundation of partnership — and in today’s challenging real estate space, true partnership is more critical than ever,” said Hake. “From tenants to municipalities, brokers to landowners, everyone we work with is treated as a valued ally, working together toward shared success in any market cycle.”

Legacy Development Partners’ affiliation with The Garrett Companies — a full-service multifamily development, construction and property management and mixed-use development firm — will enable the new venture to leverage national expertise and resources while maintaining an independent, local identity focused on retail-driven, mixed-use solutions.

“At The Garrett Companies, we are always looking for dynamic ways to expand our capabilities, and this affiliation gives us a highly experienced commercial division to complement our multifamily projects,” said Eric Garrett, founder and CEO of The Garrett Companies and strategic partner to Legacy Development Partners. “Chris has an incredible track record in the industry, and we’re excited to support his team as they build something truly impactful.”

Hake brings decades of experience in commercial real estate development, having sourced and overseen approximately $1.3 billion in ground-up projects across the Southwest, Southeast and Midwest regions. His extensive expertise and connections have empowered Legacy Development Partners to launch with an active pipeline of more than a dozen opportunities, representing nearly $110 million in potential development volume.

Initial projects will be concentrated in the Phoenix metro area and across Arizona, with additional developments planned in Colorado, Utah and Idaho. Legacy Development Partners will also pursue select mixed-use opportunities in high-growth markets nationwide along with tenant-directed opportunities across the country.
