Primak Construction Group (PCG), a leading Arizona-based commercial and industrial contractor, has completed a significant expansion and partial remodel of an automotive corrosion-testing facility on a vehicle-testing campus in Stanfield, Arizona. The client remains undisclosed per agreement.

Delivered via a phased schedule following a September 2024 groundbreaking, the project required detailed coordination to execute new construction alongside ongoing facility operations.

The Scope of Work included ground-up construction and tied-in renovation, incorporating masonry, cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, specialty coatings, roofing systems, and fully integrated MEP systems, including HVAC and fire protection. The project also involved installation and coordination of specialized corrosion testing equipment, requiring precise sequencing, trade coordination, and commissioning.

Primak Construction Group served as general contractor, working in collaboration with architect John Helmut and Pearson Engineering. The team provided value engineering, site logistics planning, and scheduling strategies tailored to the constraints of an active testing environment.

A key component of delivery was a phased construction approach that allowed the existing facility to remain operational throughout the project lifecycle. This included careful utility tie-ins, controlled work zones, and sequencing designed to mitigate disruption to ongoing testing activities.

“The complexity of this project was driven by the need to build and renovate within an active corrosion testing environment,” said Lou Primak, principal and COO of Primak Construction Group. “Our team’s familiarity with the site and long-term working relationship with the client allowed us to anticipate challenges, maintain schedule integrity, and execute the work with minimal operational impact.”

The project marks the latest in a series of more than twenty projects completed by Primak Construction Group for the same client across its Arizona operations.
