McCarthy Southwest Names Lloyd Flowers Project Director


McCarthy Building Companies (www.mccarthy.com) recently transferred Lloyd Flowers to the role of project director for the firm’s Southwest region. In this position, Flowers is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the design phase services and construction execution, as well as maintaining an open client relationship while also ensuring project teams maintain the schedule and budget, prioritize safety and adhere to McCarthy’s strict quality standards.

Flowers has 33 years experience in the construction industry, including 28 years with McCarthy. Prior to his transfer to Phoenix, he served as project director for McCarthy’s Southern region based in Atlanta and, more recently, spent the past six years at Ft. Bliss Replacement Hospital in El Paso, Texas. His experience spans several industries, including healthcare, K-12, higher education and public projects.

“Lloyd has proven himself a very capable and valuable employee-owner at McCarthy and has won several internal awards for his leadership excellence,” said Chris Nickle, executive vice president of McCarthy’s Southwest region. “His vast experience will serve him well and brings additional expertise to our Southwest regional group.”

Flowers has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla. He has won numerous awards over his career, including Black Engineer of the Year from Modern Day Technology in 2007.
