Home Depot & Roadie Offer Same-Day Delivery for Construction Projects

The Home Depot now offers same-day project deliveries at more than 400 of its stores throughout the United States, through partnership with Roadie.

Through this partnership, contractors (and consumers) no longer need to run back and forth to their local Home Depot during a project. Instead, they can simply buy materials online and have them delivered that same day.

“Most of us know all-too-well the pain of starting a home improvement project only to realize we have to stop and drive back to the store — not just once but multiple times,” said Marc Gorlin, Founder & CEO of Roadie. “Whether we’re DIYers or seasoned pros, at some point we all buy the wrong part, forget something, or simply don’t get enough in the first place. For Home Depot, express delivery can be a game-changer, especially in the competitive home improvement retail industry.”

Roadie is the on-the-way delivery service with the nation’s largest local same-day footprint. Because Roadie’s on-the-way model taps into unused capacity in passenger vehicles already on the road, the company is uniquely positioned to help businesses (like The Home Depot) bring same-day delivery to millions of customers nationwide — even in small cities and towns that most retailers struggle to reach. The company’s same-day delivery footprint now reaches 89 percent of U.S. households.

Roadie is innovating with dynamic routing and pricing models and expand its use of machine learning to predict capacity and match deliveries to its community of drivers based on real-time supply and demand. Since its 2015 launch, Roadie has grown to over 120,000 drivers and has delivered to more than 11,000 cities and towns nationwide.

Home Depot customers and employees leaving the store can also pick up Roadie Gigs and make a few extra dollars by delivering items on their way home.

Consumers and professional contractors can receive same-day delivery by choosing “Express Delivery from Store” through HomeDepot.com or the Home Depot app.

Roadie recently raised an additional $37 million (toward its total $62 million) in Series C funding, that included investment from The Home Depot.
