Goettl Purchases Commercial Land Parcel in Scottsdale: Air Conditioning Company to Build Corporate H

Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing, an 80-year-old Phoenix-based company, has purchased approximately six (6) acres of land at: 8701 E. McDowell Road for approximately $5 Million. The company plans to build a new corporate facility on the site that will serve as its corporate headquarters and also house the firm’s new “Goettl University.”

The property, which is situated at the southwest corner of McDowell Road and the 101 freeway, will be the site of an approximately 60,000-square-foot commercial building, which is scheduled for completion in late 2020. In addition to the Goettl Headquarters, the company will operate its Goettl University in the new building. The new, high-tech trade school will be the first of its kind in their industry.

“This was a tremendous opportunity to purchase a very visible corporate location with sightlines from both McDowell and the 101 Freeway,” says Greg Hopley, executive vice president with Colliers International in Arizona. “This property is surrounded by outstanding demographics in terms of labor pool and access to company clientele.”

The City of Scottsdale is also excited to have this renowned company relocating to South Scottsdale. “We are delighted to welcome Goettl Corporate Headquarters to Scottsdale,” said Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane. “Eighty years of business success in the valley is an amazing legacy to bring to Scottsdale. We look forward to their positive economic impact and new job opportunities in our McDowell Road Corridor.”

Goettl, known for its regional dominance in the air conditioning/plumbing industry, is looking forward to the transition. “We are proud to build a headquarters of this magnitude in our home state of Arizona. This move will give us a firm anchor to continue to expand our legacy. The addition of Goettl University will expand our capacity to train technicians in the Goettl Way: to do things the right way, not the easy way and will facilitate our goal to Goettlize the Nation,” says Ken Goodrich, chief executive officer for Goettl.

Goettl purchased the property from Southwest Next Land Fund 1, LLC. Commercial Broker Greg Hopley, Executive Vice President with Colliers International in Arizona, represented Goettl Air Conditioning in this purchase transaction. The seller was represented by Arizona Retail Services.
