The ceremony, held on Sept. 25, drew a strong turnout from city leaders and the West Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. Attendees included Vice Mayor Wally Campbell, Councilmembers Brannon Hampton and Benita Beckles, along with Jeffrey Campos, CEO of the West Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. Members of the City of Goodyear’s economic development team and many other community representatives were also in attendance.

Ballpark Village will feature a mix of national and local tenants, including Starbucks, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Pacific Dental Services, Mesquite (an Arizona-only Mexican cuisine concept), The Nail Boss, Farmer Boys, Nautical Bowls (a health-focused café), The Rush Funplex (its first Arizona location, offering indoor attractions such as bowling, go-karts, mini-golf and bumper cars) and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. The project is being developed in partnership with the City of Goodyear, EPS and RKAA. Construction is anticipated to take approximately 9 to 12 months.

The development is expected to create more than 100 jobs and represents an investment of over $20 million in construction. Built in two phases, the site is designed to provide convenient access and amenities that complement the nearby Goodyear Ballpark, the spring training home of the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds.

“This project represents an opportunity to bring high-quality development to one of the fastest-growing areas in the Valley,” said Walt Brown Jr., founder, CEO and designated broker at Diversified Partners. “Ballpark Village will provide jobs, attract new businesses and give the community a place to gather. It truly takes an army to make it happen, and we are grateful for the strong partnership with the City of Goodyear that helped bring this project to fruition.”

“The success of projects like Ballpark Village shows what can be accomplished when the city, developers and community come together,” said Vice Mayor Wally Campbell. “This groundbreaking is more than the start of construction; it’s an investment in Goodyear’s future that will provide opportunities for our residents and support the continued growth of our city.”

From its beginnings as farmland supplying materials for early aviation to its rise as one of Arizona’s fastest-growing cities, Goodyear has always been a community shaped by growth and reinvention. Today, it is home to more than 120,000 residents and is known for its strong household incomes, family-friendly amenities and rising profile as a West Valley destination. Goodyear Ballpark, the spring training home of the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds, is a major draw for baseball fans and part of the city’s growing sports and entertainment scene.

This development marks Diversified Partners’ continued growth in the Arizona retail market, following the success of other landmark projects in the Phoenix metro area, including The Metropolitan, an $850 million mixed-use redevelopment of the former Metrocenter mall.
