McCarthy Building Companies Inc. is pleased to announce that Larissa Tavelli, director of marketing for the firm’s Southwest region, was named to the board of directors of Homeward Bound, a Phoenix-based nonprofit dedicated to serving families facing homelessness. Tavelli begins her term on the board this spring.
Homeward Bound’s board is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to providing strength, stability and self-reliance to families facing homelessness. As a new member of Homeward Bound’s board of directors, Larissa brings marketing expertise and will help build greater awareness within the construction industry about the organization and its mission.
As director of marketing for McCarthy’s Southwest region, Tavelli oversees marketing and communications for the firm’s Arizona and Colorado offices and serves as an advisor with the firm’s national marketing and business development team. She leads the team’s strategic development and was instrumental in forming and advancing the group’s capacity and skills in the areas of public relations, copywriting, graphic design, video creation, website creation, digital marketing and social media strategy. Tavelli’s leadership in planning, as well as oversite and creative execution for internal and external initiatives has helped propel the regional team forward while expanding the firm's footprint into national markets related to solar and water construction. She has also played a critical role in developing strategic partnerships with the marketing team and the firm's operations, business development and preconstruction leaders.
Tavelli has been with McCarthy for 12 years and has been actively involved in community engagement on behalf of the firm and personally. In addition to her role as director of marketing, Tavelli serves as chair of McCarthy’s regional Heart Hats program which guides and organizes the firm’s community giving and volunteer efforts in Arizona and Colorado. Over the course of her career, she has volunteered her time with various organizations, including: Dancing with Dignity, a major fundraiser for Dignity Health, where Tavelli participated as a dancer; ACE Mentoring, where she served as a guest presenter and marketing committee member; and New Pathways for Youth, which provides mentorship to economically disadvantaged youth in Metro Phoenix, where she managed in-kind marketing services.
