Jan/Feb ACC Issue Spotlights Downtown Phoenix

Arizona Contractor & Community magazine focuses on Downtown Phoenix to begin its 10th year of publication in 2021. In this 80-page issue, we dig into the history of iconic businesses such as the Hotel Adams and Porters Western Wear store and reveal the scandalous financing scheme behind the Security Building in 1928.

Don’t worry, we haven’t overlooked our core topic of construction, as we feature the three generations of Skousen contractors, focusing on W.R. Skousen. We also feature the latest profiles and projects by Cliff Co, Chasse, Faciliteq, and Katerra. The issue is rounded out with Douglas Sydnor’s architecture column on round buildings in Arizona, and stories on fireproof hotels, environmental negligence, insurance for contractors, and the insights by one of Arizona’s top excavators.

Copies are available via the ACC website or at Books on 7th Avenue in Phoenix, or the Ignite Sign Museum in Tucson.
