McCarthy Welcomes Three New Partners to its Arizona Team

McCarthy Building Companies Inc. announces three additions to the firm’s Arizona team. The new partners, who are based in the Phoenix office, include Russ Sanders, Charlie Crews and Frances Inestroza. Together, the new members bring nearly 50 years of experience and will play a significant role in expanding the Southwest region’s client services efforts.

Russ Sanders is hired as vice president of Design Integration


Sanders, who has nearly 30 years of architecture, technology, management and construction industry experience, will be supporting McCarthy’s business development and preconstruction teams by bringing a fresh approach to design partner engagement and implementing technology advancement to guide teams. Sanders is a registered architect, and throughout his career has promoted the use of technology, tools and processes to better communicate with the entire project team, drive decisions and generate positive outcomes on projects as large as $600 million. Early in his career, Sanders helped to pioneer the utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM), working with software developers to influence the development of emerging tools. He has also lectured extensively on the subject throughout the U.S. and abroad.

In his role at McCarthy, Sanders will be responsible for assisting the Arizona, Nevada and Colorado offices in establishing strong teams of designers, engineers and builders to ensure each project’s success. Sanders recently received his DBIA Professional certification with the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). He holds a bachelor of science degree in design as well as a master of architecture from Arizona State University and received a National AIA BIM Award for innovation.

Charlie Crews is hired as business development manager for Arizona commercial sector


Crews joins McCarthy with nearly a decade of marketing and client relations experience. As business development manager, Crews will lead the creation and nourishment of relationships with current and future clients, partners and other stakeholders of McCarthy’s commercial construction projects, focusing on the healthcare, mission critical, aviation and municipal market sectors. She will also oversee and manage the team’s strategy on new opportunity pursuits and the development of market growth.

Crews is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Arizona Chapter, serving in the Partnership Forum and Women’s Leadership Initiative. She is a member of Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the Phoenix affiliate of Women in Healthcare. Crews holds a bachelor of science degree from W.P. Carey at Arizona State University and was named a 2019 Up and Comer to Know in CRE by AZRE Magazine.

Frances Inestroza is hired as business development manager for Education Building Group


Inestroza brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the McCarthy team, with nearly a decade in the construction industry. She has an extensive background in operations and market research and will be an asset to McCarthy’s Education Building Group. In her new role, Inestroza will focus on further developing relationships with educational partners and stakeholders.

She is a member of the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO). Inestroza’s leadership accolades include Managers to Lead Certification through XM Performance, graduation from the Scottsdale Leadership Organization, and she is currently part of McCarthy’s Foundation of Leadership program. She holds a bachelor of science in social work from the University of Akron, Ohio.
