Arizona-based commercial and industrial contractor Primak Construction Group has successfully completed the Design-Build Delivery of two essential support buildings at South32’s Hermosa project near South32 Hermosa, in Patagonia, Arizona.

The 1.34-acre development includes two Mining Infrastructure support buildings:
A 6,572-square-foot administrative building
A 4,185-square-foot auxiliary building featuring an IT room and ambulance drive bays
Buried utilities and associated infrastructure were also installed as part of the project.
Due to the remote and environmentally sensitive location, Primak Construction implemented enhanced safety and environmental protection measures. All personnel adhered to South32 and MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations, including completing MSHA 5000-23 certifications, site-specific hazard and task-specific driving trainings, and other certified trade partner requirements – without any citations!
Accomplishments were recognized to minimize environmental disruption, preserving local wildlife habitats and respecting the surrounding Patagonia community.
“This project reflects our commitment to safety, precision, and environmental stewardship,” said Lou Primak, principal and COO of Primak Construction Group. “We’re proud to support South32 and contribute infrastructure that strengthens both operations and emergency readiness.”
The buildings were constructed in approximately five months and delivered on schedule in September of 2025 because of PCG’s team grit, determination and organized and orderly approach – not to mention its team of outstanding trade partners!
