TD hired 60 high school and college summer interns and provided industry experience in a fast-paced construction atmosphere. As part of their internships, the students worked on group research projects to better TD’s business and recruiting processes. The presentations focused on industry and customer analysis, field communication, thoughtful planning and prefabrication benefits. In their final week, the groups presented their research to company leaders. Their insights and knowledge have inspired opportunities for continued company growth and innovation.

"TD's Internship Program showed me not only the process of completing a construction project, but particularly how it takes partnership, trust and communication between everyone involved," said TD Engineering Intern Kate Lyon. "My favorite part of this experience was that I never felt defined by my title as an intern but was seen by everyone as a Partner from day one."

This summer’s college interns learned practical skills in project management, construction management, estimating, construction technology, manufacturing, business development, engineering, facilities management, human resources, marketing and more.

TD also offers an established trades internship program that provides future tradespeople an early hands-on understanding of TD, its culture and opportunities for young adults interested in the skilled trades. Starting with the foundation of work-based learning programs, TD is refining its training to meet today’s labor regulations, safety protocols, educational requirements and tomorrow’s generational expectations.

"This summer marks our 20th internship program. We brought in a variety of talented and diverse young adults to learn about the construction industry and gain applicable work experience," said TD Chief People Officer Steve Cunningham. "We’re proud of our interns and their accomplishments this year, and we hope to see many of them back after graduation."
