Terracon Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to ASU for Pavement Engineering Scholarships

The Terracon Foundation announced a $10,000 grant to Arizona State University (ASU) to support Terracon scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students specializing in geotechnical or pavement engineering.

“Our involvement with ASU has been mutually beneficial, and we would like to leverage an improving relationship with the university and its students to provide the professional workforce needed for our future growth,” said Joseph Phillips, senior principal in Terracon’s Phoenix office. “We believe ASU can be a recruiting hub for engineering staff not only for our Arizona locations but for other Terracon offices, especially those without universities in their town.”

ASU takes the top spot in the nation for sustainability by the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS), a program of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Times Higher Education Impact Rankings recognized the university with a top 10 ranking for addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Learn more at https://www.asu.edu/.

The Terracon Foundation encourages employees to submit grant requests each year for organizations focused on education as well as the built and natural environment. To date, the Terracon Foundation has granted nearly $4 million to community organizations, universities, dependents of employees and disaster relief efforts.
