Gorman & Company, in partnership with U.S. VETS, is proud to have recently broke ground on a transformative supportive housing development to serve Veterans at 500 N. State Route 89, Prescott, on the historic Fort Whipple campus, part of the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System.

This comprehensive development features the rehabilitation of six early-1900s officers ’ quarters into one—and two-bedroom units paired with new construction of one-bedroom units, creating 103 affordable, supportive apartment homes for seniors, the homeless, and at-risk Veterans.

“There is no better tribute to those who served at Fort Whipple than to use this land to provide a home, a community, and a stable future for our Veterans today,” Carole Benedict, Executive Director of U.S. VETS, said.

Located just northeast of downtown Prescott, the site is well-positioned with access to healthcare, retail, parks, and transit. With this project, Gorman & Company, alongside U.S. VETS, reaffirm their shared mission to end Veteran homelessness and provide long-term stability for those who have served.

“This project is a powerful blend of preservation and progress,” Sally Schwenn, Arizona Market President, Gorman & Company, said. “We’re not only restoring these historic structures, but we’re also creating safe, dignified housing for Veterans within Northern Arizona, and building a strong, supportive community that honors their service.”
